Executive Director of the Columbia Art League, Diana Moxon, said the Boone County Art Show is for people in the community.
Visitors were greeted at the show's entrance with a guitar performance, and a guide was on hand to explain the method of exhibition. Visitors received ballots to vote for their favorite pieces at the art show. Janet, a volunteer who guided the non-artist section of the show, said that the works created by both professional and non-professional artists were amazing. She said that the participants in the non-artists' category would not have majored in art.
Art show winners were announced on Sunday, Oct. 10. Three works were chosen from various categories, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, fiber and other media. First place for each category was worth $100, while second place received $50, and third place received $25. See a complete list of the winners at http://cal.missouri.org/bocountyartshow.html
