This year was a transitioning phase from print to online, and all in all, it turned out quite well. The online “Columbian” offers many new features, such as color photos, quick and easy story upload and design, immediate feedback via comments, and it has increased our readership to a worldwide audience. Not to mention, being online we don’t use any paper, so we are helping the environment by saving trees.
We’ve seen the benefits of the online “Columbian” from our point of view, but we’d also like to know how our readers feel. Please let us know what you think by commenting directly on this article or shooting us an e-mail at columbian@ccis.edu. Give us advice on what you’d like to see done differently or issues you’d like to see covered more. We appreciate your comments and criticism, and we look forward to hearing you. Remember, “The Columbian” speaks for the students, faculty and staff of Columbia College, so let your voice be heard!
We’d like to give a special thanks to Sondra Hopkins and the staff at Tribune Publishing for working with us on design this year and printing “The Columbian” over the years. We also thank Beth Hastings, Web designer in the Technology Services department, for developing the template for "The Columbian" online. We couldn’t have done it without you!
